Swinging Safari (2018) is a colorful satire of a typical Australian neighborhood on the beach, capturing the innocence of an era of neglected parents, constant sunburn and eccentric behavior. The story is an Australian summer holiday, combined with a healthy dose of nostalgia and loud laughter.
Australia, 1975. Jeff, 14, is trying to find his place in a world that is changing faster than his hormones and dealing with his attraction to Melly, his shy and sensitive face.
When a huge blue whale hits a local beach, Jeff and Melly think it’s the most incredible thing that ever happened in their life. Behind closed doors, their eccentric parents celebrate in their own special way, joining the sexual revolution that escaped even on Australian beaches. Soon, however, everything is about to take an unexpected turn.
