Here’s the scoop: Samira, a young poet battling cancer, is staying at a clinic just outside town. She gets a chance to join a bus trip to New York City with other patients, set up by one of the nurses for a fun day at a puppet show. But honestly, Samira’s mostly excited about the chance to grab some authentic NYC pizza.
Then, out of nowhere, aliens invade, turning their relaxed day in the city into total chaos. Samira makes it through the initial attack and finds herself hiding out with others across New York. Pretty soon, they figure out that the aliens can’t handle noise, so staying quiet becomes their best shot at survival.
In the middle of all this madness, Samira crosses paths with Eric, a British law student who’s also stuck in the city for school. Together, they team up, trying to stay safe as everything unravels around them. Alongside trusty Frodo (her cat), they’re just trying to make it through the madness that’s taken over their surroundings.
Oh, and heads up: This movie takes us back before all that went down in earlier films of the series. It’s kinda like getting some behind-the-scenes action or hearing untold stories about how things kicked off in this universe. So if you’ve seen those flicks before, expect new angles on familiar chaos!
Okay, so this movie takes a bit of a different spin! Instead of relying on flashbacks to show how the invasion started, Michael Sarnoski jumps straight into the action, making it the main event. This choice definitely amps up the intensity and delivers more action-packed scenes. That said, it might not hit the same emotional depth as the earlier film, which nailed those personal connections and character moments for a stronger emotional impact. But if you’re here for the stunning visuals, this one won’t disappoint!
